Un matin de juin 1894, Annie Kopchovsky, relevant un pari, s’embarque dans un voyage extraordinaire. Elle se lance seule, armée d’un révolver et d’un vélo, dans un tour du monde de 15 mois. En chemin, elle dort dans des cimetières, manque de tomber d’un pont, chasse le tigre avec un prince indien. Elle devient ainsi la première femme à faire le tour du monde à bicyclette.

Quand elle raconte ses exploits, Annie a tendance à embellir les choses. Au fur et à mesure qu’elle ajoute des éléments, les silhouettes de papier se transforment pour coller à son histoire mais le doute finit par s’installer.

Déjà accueillie en 24/25 avec son spectacle L’Univers a un goût de framboise, la compagnie BOOM retrace ici la vraie/​fausse histoire d’Annie Kopchovsky et s’interroge : quand on se raconte et qu’on construit sa propre légende, que choisit-on de dire, que choisit-on de taire ? Un spectacle à prendre avec une pincée de sel !
